Last Sunday, my girlfriends and I decided to meet up for lunch at Empress Cafe. It was the first time we met up ever since I got back from KK a week and a half ago. And since I never tried the food at Empress Cafe, I thought it'd be a good idea to try it out especially since Rafiq isn't around. He never did wanna try it out. Even though I knew that the price of their food was kinda steep, I just wanted to try it out anyhoot. After all, Alia said it wasn't that bad. So, coolio.. Empress Cafe it was..
Sadly, I didn't get to snap any pictures of food. I guess I was more interested in catching up with the latest goss, that I kinda forgot about the food.
Which is better still or else I'll be getting comments like.. "aiyohh, hungry laa.." or "damn, now my diet's gonna be ruined" or "alaa..more food, time to take out my elliptical"... ![]()
Anyways, as soon as it was time to order, I noticed that I had no idea what I wanted. Most of the items were around rm22. The appetizers didn't sound appetizing at all. The Sprite was rm6, which I thought was ridiculous. There I was, not knowing what to order. So taking cue from Alia, who's been there before, I ended up ordering Spicy Beef Fried Rice for lunch, which was only rm13.
Before the food came, we were given complimentary buns and butter. It would've been fine if not for the fact that the butter was cut into dwarf size. But whatever, the bun was good.. Soon, the food came, and the verdict?? It was pretty tasty!! It was good. The rice was a bit too mushy but the taste was there and I kinda enjoyed it.
Overall, Empress Cafe isn't so bad la.. If you're willing to splurge, then by all means... But for the price, the food is only so-so.. I'd rather have lunch at TGIF anytime. This doesn't mean it's gonna be my last time meeting the Empress though.. I might still drop by once in a blue moon.. Who knows... The only thing that I thought was lousy was the service. They seriously gotta improve on that part! Other than that, not bad laah...![]()
